Business in Society

The ICC Commission on Business in Society aims to develop a world business perspective on the role of business in the context of globalisation and changing societal expectations and articulate messages on issues relating to business in society. Following the publication in 2002 of the booklet Business in Society: making a positive and responsible contribution , the Commission has been developing additional practical guidance for ICC members on implementing the nine steps for developing a company’s own business principles. The Commission has also been tracking developments and provided input on major international initiatives on corporate responsibility such as the Global Compact.

    - the ISO Working Group on Social Responsibility
    - the mandate of the UN Special Representative on business and human rights
