Benefits of ICC membership for academics

The ICC's extensive work on behalf of the world business is highly relevant to those in higher education , teaching and research with a bearing on international business. Areas include;

Environmental issues are of special relevance in the 21st century , as the ICC is committed to helping the greening of curricula in all appropriate faculties in business schools and universities.

The ICC's role is to infulance new legisalation that affects world business at both the national and international level, and also to develop high standards of business behaviour through codes of practice. In addition , the ICC develops practical uniform rules to enable international transactions to be undertaken more smoothly and cost effectively.

Its rule making is at the leading edge of new international commercial practicer, and knowledge of this area is essential for those wishing to keep thier teaching up-to-date.

Involvement

Academic bodies in membership may name any number of individuals to receive information on specific areas of ICC work of particular interest to them . Such individuals also have the opportunity to attend United Kingdom meetings relevant to them , and become involved in the work of international ICC Commissions and working groups.

Members also have the opportunity of commenting on ICC draft papers at the consultative stage. They also recieve regular newsletters covering all aspects of the ICC's work . Publications

The ICC'S range of printed publications is in wide use by academics in thier teaching and research. They are also bought by libraries and as textbooks for students.

ICC United Kingdom offers large discounts on all publications to academic members . some academic bodies have been able to recover most , or in some cases all, of their subscription through these discounts.

A large number of United Kingdom business schools and universities, including the former polytechnics, are members of ICC United Kingdom

Annual subscriptions are offered at a special rate availble only to academic bodies, with the cost often being shared between two or more faculties.
