Our regular meetings on Climate Change continued during the year with the DTI and DEFRA, as did our meetings with the Treasury. We also lobbied Ministers on issues of importance to international business. We have more recently been very concerned about the US Alien Tort Claims Act 1789. We consider that the way that this Act is now being used is an unacceptable extra-territorial extension of the jurisdiction of the United States Law.
